I have a Windows ME system from IBM, that has begun rebooting itself everytime we turn it on and it starts windows so if you leave it alone it will sit there rebooting over and over again until you turn off the power.
This started when we movedthe system. All that was done was to shut it down, and move it to a new desk, and that's when this behavior began.
I tried removing the application I thought was causing it from the starup menu (which was difficult seeing that I only had a few seconds to do that before it rebooted - the app was called OEM Restart Reminder) though removing that did not solve the problem.
So we tried wiping the system clean, thinking we had a virus, and re-installing windows, and that didn't help. So we fdisk'd and formatted the windows partition and re-installed from there only to get the same problem. When this first started I thought maybe the power supply or something on the board was bad, but when I boot off a floppy, into a DOS prompt, the system runs fine.
Has anyone else run into something similar and is this an IBM add-on problem or am I describing a virus that I don't yet know about?
Thanks in advance.

The first thing I would do,since you moved it,is check for any loose connections...
especially inside the case.Remove/reseat the RAM.
