Its seems as if service providers in my area (philadelphia) do not offer DSL to people who have Win ME on their PCs. Does anyone have dsl and Win ME? If so who is the provider? Also can anyone enlighten me on this subject? Thanks.

Not in your area, but I got Me + DSL 512 Kb and no real problem,
except that DU Meter (bandwith spy) tells me I download at 980Kb 8))
Tell your providers you got 98. it's the same... and if they come to check, you just upgrade later on 8)

We have had problems with ME and DSL.
Specificly ADSL using PPPOE. We had to upgrade the client driver and still some people experience problems getting to some sites. Very strange!
Windows 98 and ME are not the same!
Don't know if you can get them to but try to convince them to let you beta it maybe at a reduced cost. good luck!

This is another case with the Baby Bells sitting on there ?ss...doing nothing while a new OS comes out. Instead of making sure there drivers work. The only reason they are concerned is the greedy telephone companies dont want to lose even one new precious DSL customer. Apparently they care if there existing DSL customers can connect.
So dont blame MS.....they have had months to get this to work.

Gosh, I hate to rush to defense of baby bells' DSL.
Even M$ can't keep up w/ it's own droppings anymore.
Working DSL requires many upstream devices and protocols to be running perfectly.
Mindless OS treadmilling is killing DSL.
Fight back. Insist on Win 95B/98(se) for new computers.

i have verizon dsl and winme if you go with them you have to make a couple easy changes to get it to work but i figured it out

i work in internet tech support and unfortunatly there seems to be a problem wiht ME and DSL i wasnt able to solve, and
i found no answers in ms tech site.
if some one has answers ill be glad to read them. 10x martin
