After reinstalling win me on my PC I can't make zip-files anymore. Of course I can install Winzip to do the job, but I found the built in possibility in Me very nice.
Before I would right-click on the desktop, choose New - Compressed folder. Now this possibility is gone. When I look what program will handle zip-files, there's no association for it!
Someone any idea?

Thanks for your time, Jan

Hi Jan,
Do the following:-
Open control panel/ add/remove programs.
Select Windows Setup/ System Tools, then Details.
You should find a tick box next to Compressed Folders. If the box is unticked, select it,if however it is ticked untick it ,reboot and go back and tick it again.
All should be well. But remember Winzip will no longer be the default ,one disables the other.
