Comment:
My PC has been infected with WIN FIXER POP Ups & from searc-h.com. I keep getting POP UP's all the time inspite of activating POP UP blocker for both Internet Explorer & Opera. Some Virus opens a lot of secret hidden windows which has completely slowed down the system.
I use I.E 5.5 & Opera 7.21.
What should I do to get rid of this malacious pop up problem.
Spy Bot did not work !

Ethan Hunt, Winfixer seems to be a particularly annoying extra 'goodie'. Google has quite a few 'remedies' @ :

The problem isn't removing winfixer itself... it is whatever the heck is causing all of these popups (for inte-rnet.com, searc-h.com, and a host of other crappy sites) that are so egregious they even load my Mozilla Firefox when I haven't opened it so that I can be bombarded with those danged popups. I have been trying to find the source of those popups for soooooo long and I am sooooo tired and frustrated. Does ANYONE have any ideas that actually answer Ethan Hunt's question and mine? I am at my proverbial wit's end.
