Will not hold IP address

I have installed a Linksys wireless G PCMCIA card in my Dell Inspiron 8000 and I have configured the drivers correctly. The device is working, however, I am unable to assign an IP address to the interface. I entered a gateway and even a manual IP address and subnet. If I try to set the IP through DHCP it does nothing. ipconfig /renew_all (card is only interface) returns an immediate value of 0 filled octets (0.0.0.0) very disappointing. Anyone had this problem, know what it is? Any help is appreciated.

It doesn't sound like you are getting DHCP services from the router. Are you in the same workgroup name? Do you have mac filtering enabled on the router? These can cause problems like this.
