That means (sorry to skip that part) the contents of the floppy are brought into system memory otherwise known as RAM. You don't format the RAM disk just A:\>format c: The programs on the floppy need working room other than the hard drive so they use the RAM hence you have a RAM DRIVE.....OK??

I was using that as an example. At the A:\> type the current CDROM drive letter in your case E: then hit enter Now you will be in the root of E: looks like this E:\> now type "CD WIN9X" without quotes. you will see this E:\WIN9X\> now type format C: and hit enter. You can also type SETUP at the E:\>...........OK If you are not sure about what you can do you can type DIR at any prompt and find the contents of that directory. You need to have an app to run it that is why you start up the RAM drive so that drivers for your CDROM can be loaded plus command.com and everything else. The format tool is in the CDROM
