Putting it plainly which is better. Nortons Personal Firewall, or Zone Aalarm 2.6, as I have Nortons would it be possible to run the two together, or would it be better to disable Nortons and run Zone Alarm on it's own.

terry, i know guys who run 3 firewalls for some reason. Norton and zonealarm are both good software firewalls. Im no security expert and really have no idea how to test the two but for me zonealarm is much easier to operate and so far its free.

Hi ya Terry,
Yes...You can run Norton and ZA side by side. And yes ZA is superior than Norton. All of My ports are always stealthed, when I do port scanning at GRC.com---NanoProbe---when I am using ZA, but when I deactivate it and only Norton as my firewall, my port 113 is only closed and port 135 openned (using win2000)!! It seems only ZA can hide port 135 under win2000 or winXP, Sygate can't do this either (I have done little experiments on my friend computer...he use Sygate 4.2 and AtGuard and port 135 is openned). ZA is simply the best firewall out there. I'm running Norton and ZA side by side because Norton has some cute features such as Cookies manager, Script manager and AdBlockers (Norton Internet Security). If you want to learn about ports, trojans, etc...it's worth having Norton or Tiny PFW, otherwise just use ZA. ZA is so user-friendly that It does everything for you, such as Pinged block, etc...under Norton you must do a little tweak to do this (able to ping other computer but can't be pinged).

I clicked on Sanjaya's Homepage and when I wanted to go back, it wouldn't let me. What's up with that? That has occured on other pages I have visited too. Anyone know why?
Thanks, Suzi

Well Suzi I also clicked on Sanjaya's home page and no problem, was able to come and go as I please no gremlins there then, so Suzi must be you. Sanjaya thank you for taking time to write, it is appreciated, though what would you recommend ZA 2.6 or the PRO version.
