Where can I get the cable modem upload speed limit remover?

I'm on Rogers@Home and recently had my Lan City cable modem upgraded to a Terayon which supports faster upload speeds (Lan City = 50kps, Terayon = 150kps!). Unfortunately my provider caps my upload speed around 40kps. I know there's a program that can uncap it but I can't find it. Anyone know where I can download it from?

If that could be done, and it can't, why would we all have caps?? The "CAP" is a setting that is located at your ISP's laser group and unless you work there you are out of luck!!

The upload cap remover does exist and it does work because a friend of mine used it. Before he was stuck at 40kps uploads, now he gets over 100kps upload rates when he sends stuff to me! He's on the same service with the same modem and lives just a few miles away. Unfortunately he didn't keep the program handy.

I have a friend that uncapped mine for me... but he works for my ISP.. I've never heard of a hack... you might try going to http://www.xteq.com download their registry editor, download the broadband plug-in... and that might do it...

I have roadrunner cable of maine. they capped my upload speed at 45k/sec. I always got 120k/sec u/l until i ran a hotline server (stupid me). Now i don't run a server, and they even deny capping it!! My friend, ONE BLOCK AWAY still uploads at 120k/sec. I've gotten a new ethernet card, a new cable modem, and tried several old uncappers. If you have ANYTHING that might help, PLEASE email me! I would appreciate it so much. thanks for any help.

Most cable modem speed settings are not set in your computer or modem. They are set by the cable company. The programs wich can change your modem settings require rebooting the modem, in which case when the modem contacts the ISP, it will again be reset to the lower capped number. In most cable systems, the only way to change the cap at the cable company on your account would be to have someone there do it, or hack in. There is no majic program to do this, and even if one exists to autohack and change their settings, It would be a pretty risky thing to use, and be fairly easy to detect. You can usually get at least 160k on a 128k upline with some of the reg tweaks.
