where can i get 256 colors

hi, i need some help i keep on getting 16 bit colors when i want 256 colors where can i get them.
my frend let me borrow the windows me cd so i didnt get the color cd

16 bit colors is 65,000 colors, why would you want to reduce down to 256?
Or do you mean you only get 16 colors? If so, then you will need to aquire the drivers for your video card and install them.

hello right click on blanck spot on desk top and chose properties. and you can chose 256 there. and like posted above got the latest m.e compatable vidio drivers for your computer?
