sister in laws puter had a game stick installed on a usb port and started smoking one day well no one worried about it now a year later it is giving the message when you boot that your computer has crashed she tried to reboot with the manufacturers disk but her usb ports will not work there are three on the back and two on the front and none of them seem to work was worried she might has caught the motherboard on fire but there are no signs of damage to it they have called gateway and no help at all as per usual with gateway please someone help if you can to help us get this thing started again and up and running thanks liz

So...is your problem that the computer won't boot, or that when it does the USB ports don't work? What is the exact error message you receive when booting?

computer says it has crashed all it says they plugged in joystick to usb ports now when trying to use usb ports they dont work hadnt tried myself but fixing to so i can fully see the problem but the main problem is it only has usb ports for the mouse and keyboard so cant use either one of those so dont know what to do liz
