I just bought a Zoom v.92 external modem and then I found out that my ISP does not support v.92 modems. So what ISP do you recommend that has good service, good tech support, supports v.92 modems, and has a good price. Thanks, MOHAA

You might want to take that modem back and get one that will work with the ISP you want.

There's a great website that lists great ISPs for under $10. It's www.freedomlist.com From there, you can judge what's a good ISP for your needs. Many people comment on various ISPs in that website. Tell me if you like it or not. :-)

Do you really need v.92 function? Everyone supports v.90 and this is all you really need for internet. Your v.92 modem should work well with all v.90 ISP's.
The only real advantage of v.92 is the ability to get phone calls while online, take it, and then continue your interent activity when you hang up the phone. This requires both an ISP who supports it and a local phone company who supports it.

I use Netzero ISP .When I purchased my PC ,it came with "free" internet service. One of their big selling points ! It wasnt till after I purchased the PC ,that I found out anyone can get Netzero's free internet service .However they had some restrictions ,at that time it was a 40 hour limit per month. I believe now its only 10 hours per month .I have opted for their Platinum service for $10 per month, and unlimited use! They now have some other high speed service for 15 dollars per month ! I've been very happy with Netzero ,in my case Iam usally on the net only very early in the morn, and my access speed seems pretty fast with my 56K modem ! There is another free ISP called juno, you can check out ! Good Luck ,Nick

I too, bought a V92 modem and it works good especially the modem on hold. I can answer the phone without disconnecting the internet...for a limited time of course...say 20 seconds..hey thats more than enough for me. I opted to use NetZero cause some of their lines supports V92 modem. I'm here in richmond california and 4 of their lines here supports V92. Go to their website and see if you have those V92 supported lines at your place....good luck
