What is BackWeb, I have lots

(1)I would like to know what is the proper way to get rid of the backweb entries on my computer. None of the adware programs I run place any check marks in front of any of these, so I am afraid to touch them.
(2)Also, I tried get to go to the site to download CW Shredder and the page wouldn't load. Is there more than one site to download from.
(3)Do I need to shut down my ZoneAlarm and antivirus before downloading this program?

1) backweb can wait till you get the other problems fixed.
2) I have gone to the CWShredder site several times today, it works for me. It just worked now at 11:30 pm PST with the link I gave you. Sometimes it gets busy, try tomorrow.

You can safely remove Backweb entries from your computer. Deleted all Backweb entries from my PC months ago without a problem.

Yes, I was told to post my log in the virus section and I posted this question about not being able to be authorized to view the page and I was sent this post and it did the job.
"try going to zone alarm >privacy >site list and make sure block " mime type intergrated objects" is unticked after right clicking on mobile code >options > mobile code in the box enrty for the site spywareinfo/spyware forums"
