i have heard the term cc used when speaking of e-mail, but have no idea what it means. i think it has something to do with forwarding the e-mail to another person. can someone clarify what this means? thanks.

which means that if you put an e-mail address in the carbon copy line, your message is copied to that address with it visible, but if in the blind line, the addresses copied to are not visible to the recipient

CC should be used to include relevant individuals in the communication stream although the email is not directed @ them, it may be of relevance or just to keep them informed. The original recipient will be aware of the CC list.

BCC is used in a similar instance but when the sender does not wish the recipient to know if the email was sent to anyone else., Many email lists are sent BCC only i.e. all recipients are BCC's (not using the to or CC fields) so that anonimity is controlled for all recipients.
