EVER SINCE I RECIEVED THE NEW MSN 7 EXPLORER MY COMPUTER IS SO SLUGGISH. I ADMIT I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS BEFORE WITH VERSION 6.10, BUT NOW MY PROBLEMS ARE GETTING WORSE! I RAN DR. WATSON, AND IT'S TELLING ME THAT I HAVE AN ERROR WITH MY MULTIMEDIA BACKGROUND TASK SUPPORT MODULE (MMTASK.TSK) MY TASK TRAY IS GOING CRAZY AND EVERYTIME I USE MULTIMEDIA WHICH IS ALL THE TIME, I FIND THAT I HAVE MORE THAN ONE MEDIA PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME. I AM ALWAYS ENCOUNTERING PROBLEMS. ONE DAY MY SCAN DISK WON'T WORK. I DEFRAGMENT MY COMPUTER ON A WEEKLY BASIS, AND SOMETIMES IN ORDER FOR MY SCAN DISK TO RUN, I HAVE TO DEFRAGMENT FIRST. MY COMPUTER IS SLOW AS FROZEN MOLASSES AND I AM ALWAYS GETTING ERRORS. I HAVE UNISTALLED, INSTALLED, RESTORED YOU NAME IT, AND STILL I AM HAVING PROBLEMS. HELP! WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE MY COMPUTER NORMAL? I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR INSIGHT. THANKS.

First, please post in small case. Large case is considered to be shouting.

The Dr Watson message is in all ME computers and is a bug which doesn't matter.

MSN EXPLORER is garbage. They control your PC (at least they think they do).
Get Rid Of It. Like Sue says go back to Internet Explorer 6. Or 5.5 or anything else besides MSN EXPLORER!
And don't defrag every week. Once a month should be plenty. The more often you defrag the more likely there could be damage to your files and programs etc.

Try Norton Utilities 2001, it worked for me. Fixed all kind of problems and errors I was having with Windows Me !
