I'm at my mom's house for a few weeks and I'm trying to get her computer back up and running after my 16 year-old brother's been messing with it. She has a newish broadband connection which can access the internet through Netscape. However, IE won't work and Netscape won't access any webpage that needs password access. Also programs like Ad-aware won't update. I've tried IE repair in add/delete. I've also tried uninstall/reinsalling IE. Also, Ad-aware foudn like 250 items. Any suggestions?

Mozilla is installed. It doesn't work either. I deleted it and reinstalled it. Still doesn't work. The message I get is "The connection was refused when attempting to contact start.mozilla.org."

Would it be difficult to update to XP? How about without access to IE?

Thanks

You will be wasting your time and Money. All cripple Windows OS and Now Mac systems are running in their last strings... If you want to continue to use windows right now as it's, you will need to run from 5 to 9 other programs to maintain a decent functionality with it. The best thing you should consider is going in LIVE to the Internet. this way your hard drive does not get expose to all the garbage that is being thrown at you while browsing. We can provide you with a COPY of LINSPIRELIVE on CD-ROM and you will see what I am referring to after you try it. We will guide you thru the process until you understand it.
