To get rid of a virus you would need to buy some anti-virus software. Norton is the best one! I think you can try it for free for 30 days by going here:

http://www.symantec.com/nav/nav_pro/

A lot of stores sell it for only $20.00 ($40.00 with a $20.00 rebate).

I got this virus too

I think I got it yesterday when I booted my PC and it told me my SCAN.exe wasn't working properly. I didn't pay too much attention, until today I find out some of my programs have stopped working. inlucding regedit.exe, McAfee's scan.exe, icq, etc... and they were spreading. I tried to re-install my system files from my CDs, but the virus grew back. Luckily I can still go online and I have a lot of browsers to choose from(only some of them infected, ALWAYS HAVE SPARE BROWSERS). I updated my McAfee Superdat engine and definititions(downloaded from download.com), and cleaned like 600+ files... :( (most of them became corrupt afterwards). What really killed the virus is when I opened up my backup copy of regedit.exe(if you are not sure where to find it, right click on "start" and choose find, and then search your entire C drive. 2-3 regedit.exe's should pop up.) open up which ever that works, and then use the "find" option to find any value that's called "PINF", delete that value, reboot, run virus scan again, should be all cleaned....
now I just need to re-install all those 600+ programs.. :(((((((
one more thing, ALWAYS LEAVE YOUR VSHILED RUNNING! NEVER DISABLE IT(hoping to save RAM or memory...)! IT *DOES* CATCH VIRUSES!
