When did this start?

Try a scanreg first to make sure you are not having problems with the registry.

Go to start>>run>>scanregw

If it asks you to save the registry, say yes.

Reboot and test.

If that does not clear up your problem... what kind of video card do you have? Does this error usually occur when you are using graphics heavy applications?

hey merlinscave,
i had the exact same blue screen error come up on my P3 w/windows ME. It 1st came uo when i tried to upgrade office 97 to office 2000, and then later came up when i tried to install norton antivirus 2002 as well as visual basic 6.0. I had no idea what it was, so i scanned the registry, but it said that no errors were found. Since I really needed those three programs, I "dirty-reinstalled" windows me from the cd, and, like magic the error went away. I am not saying that u have to reinstall windows, but im just sayin that if u cant find any other way to fix the error, reinstalling windows should do the trick.

I get the same error except i did everything that was posted here b4 i even came over here. I also reinstalled windows me twice. It gave me the same damn error. When i booted in safe mode at one point it said sumthin bout the video card. So i messed around with that. Im thinking its like a spreading error because i have two partitions but the other partition does not have an operating system. So i believe its a video card problem or i must format both partitions. Ne help appreciated.
