Visual C++ run time library error

I am running Win ME and Office 2000. When Starting Word I get a Visual C++ run time library error and a "can't open dll" message. How can I restore the corrupted files.

I reinstalled Windows - Problem solved, although I was hoping to avoid reinstallation. I'm getting tired of this.
