OS: Windows ME
CPU/Ram: PIII/128
Model/Manufacturer: Compaq/Presario
Comment:
Had a virus attack the computer and AVG caught it. I moved the file to Virus Vault, cannot remember which one it was. Anyway, the computer crashed right after that and when I went to reboot, I cannot log onto network and the OS won't load, something to do with Explorer.exe cannot load. Is there a way to restore the operating system through DOS or am I going to have to do a complete restore? Hoping for the best here, but expecting the worst. Thanks!

If explorer won't load, you may need to edit system.ini and change the shell to 'progman.exe' in order to get to a point where you can perform a System Restore:
