Virus attack!!! pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I discovered that my system of PII 233 MMX loaded with WINME is not performing well and I decided to repartion and format it .During d repartitioning, it prompted me that there's is a virus in d HD's boot sector, so it can't complete the partitioning.I took it to another system with windows I scanned it with updated norton2002 antivirus but could not detect d virus.I formatted it in that window during which it notified me of that virus activities but it couldn't do anything to clean it. I can format this HD both in dos and in windows but the virus still remain in d boot sector which is not allowing me to set it up with a new OS.The HD is seagate 3.2GB.

At dos prompt using boot disk: fdisk /mbr Then try partitioning again.

Was the message about a "virus like activity" in the drive you were reformatting?? If so it is Norton antivirus reporting on the action you are taking. it should ask if you want to proceed. If this is the problem, you may need to answer twice. check it out... deek
