Hi, Iv'e had this problem before folders view settings will not stay, ie: view as list or thumbnails ect, also view maximized than re-open and it's minimized. This happened after emptying my temp folder and temp internet files. Why? last time I had to re-install m.e overtop of itself and it came back there must be an easier way, does anyone know of it?

I take it you've gone into Folder Options/View tab,and checked "remember each folder's view settings"?

There is a sure-fire way to make them stick, which I have saved...but,I just can't seem to find it right now.I'll get back to you.

After window setting is what you wish ( max.or min.) ie, view, then exit from FILE that way the setting should be remembered, and open the same way when accessed again.

thx shep, checked out the link the keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags
do not exist and tried the second option to no avail. I have no problem reloading M.E although a pain in the butt. I just can't understand why emptying those temp folders take away that option. I'm still gonna wait to see if the Kid comes up with anything.

I just can't find the D**N thing. It was something along the lines of doing a file search of the entire C drive, then clicking on the "Name" header, just above the list of files, while hitting a certain key...just can't remeber it,or find it.It's now bugging me worse than it is you,Son of Snap! :)

I ain't givin' up yet tho'.

Ok SonofSnap, try this and let me know!

Follow these steps exactly. Right click START, regular click EXPLORE,DRIVE C,VIEW,
DETAILS.Click on the word "NAME" in the right hand panel,(it's not a file/folder,but the GUI button just above the list of files/folders)press and hold down CTRL
while you quit by checking the close in the upper right corner.(Don't use file to
quit.)Then release the CTRL key.Restart computer.

Hi Kid, I gave it a try but when I clisked to explore the box on the left was empty and all greyed out. I just ran set up again and everything is back to normal. Once again M.E wins the battle. ;)
