I've been trying to troubleshoot my video problems for a couple of weeks and here's where I stand: based on advice from elsewhere on the board I uninstalled WM Player 7.1 and reverted to 6.4 Didn't work at the time but a few days later I was able to play videos normally without any other troubleshooting.Everything was fine for a few days but fast forward to yesterday and again I had problems playing video. (The only program I had installed since then was a tax program which I can't see affecting the video.) Actually the video (.mpeg or .wmv files)will start playing but after 4 to 5 seconds the picture goes dark but the sound continues. I restored back to a restore point I created when I was able to play but to no avail. Video still only plays for a few seconds. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Much appreciated
hello since the tax thing is the only change try removeing it and see if problem leaves have a nice day

Nvidia video cards are notorious for these types of problems. Boot you're computer into safe mode and remove the video drivers, there maybe a bunch of them. Remove all. If that doesn't work then you'd have to go to there website and update you're drivers
