I have windows Me and for some reason a couple of weeks ago I noticed that every time I go to watch a video my computer freezes. Most of the time it will go all the way through w/ the buffering but then it freezes, but sometimes it also does it as soon as I click on a video. Someone please help.

When one uses software with built in faults, one can expect errors. Wheras it is possible to fix this error I cannot stress enough the advantages of upgrading to windows 2000.
It may be a codec failure, but to be sure you should try an alternate media player such as radlight or powerDVD. It would help a considerable amount if you were to state what player you are currently using so as people can ascertain wether it is a known issue with the player. To remove codecs: Go to control panel>multimedia/sounds and audio devices>hardware and remove ALL CODECS from the system. To install codecs: Search the web for codecs. one good DIVX compatible codec is XVID. look out also for divx (www.divx.com), and finally the ASF codec which is a microsoft proprietary format that is available from microsoft.com
