i tried to download a video driver and still having problems only showing 16 colors. i have windows me compaq presario 5WV270 8mb nvidia tnt2 downloaded driver detection and i have nvidia version 4.13.01.2183 can you help???? thanks

Where did you download the drivers from? Maybe stupid, but have you tried right clicking on desktop, properties, settings?

Download the video driver file into a folder,if it is zipped unzip it into the same folder, then right click on My Computer, go to properties, device manager, expand the + beside display adapters (which means graphics cards), click on the driver listed, go to properties (bottom left), find the driver tab, click update driver, select specify the location of the driver, click on display a list of drivers in a specific location, click next, click have disk, and point Windows to the new drivers for your card and let it update. Reboot and see how it is.

tried that many times, and still didn't work. made a folder for my drivers i have downloaded. tried a driver from nvidia website, drivers.com, also tried from compaq.com too. the one driver i did try was Detonator_Win9x_21.83 it listed the driver that i needed ????
