i have a comp PIII 733Mhz, 191 Mb RAM, USB port, running Win ME.
I need to connect my Video camera to the computer, to copy my video camera (tape)recordings on to my hard disk.
The video camera has a PS2 port, do i connect that port to the USB port of the computer using appropriate cables and then use the "Movie Maker" Program ( which is installed along with the operating system)to record the tape on to the hard disk.
The Question is do i require a video grabber card for this?
Do i need more software like drivers etc. for this?
ALso how do i do the same thing in
Windows 98? Does it have support for USB?

You need a video in card. Most come with better software than MS Movie Maker, like ULEAD, MGI. What kind of camera do you have? Did the camera come with movie making software?

thanks Karen.
My camera is the Panasonic handycam. No there is no movie making s/w with it.what i need to know is that can't i connect the PS2 port of camera to the USB port of the computer.
will the operating system detect the video camera?

Have just started to edit video through my pc.You need a video capture card. This is then liked to your camcorder via s-video or comp also link an audio cable .good luck
