Subject: Very weird Windows ME startup problem
Comment:

I recently defragmented my hard disk using Norton Disk Doctor. Ever since, I have been unable to boot Windows ME. When I choose ME from the boot menu (I have XP installed too) I get the following error message:

"Invalid boot disk. Replace and press any key when ready."

When I press a key, it just searches the floppy drive and takes me back to the boot menu.

I have checked all my boot files (e.g. boot.ini, msdos.sys, etc) and made sure that they refer to C:\ as the correct drive for windows, but the problem still occurs.

Is there anywhere on the 'net where I can download replecement boot files for Windows ME - I don't care if they overwrite my Windows XP boot files as long as they sort out the problem.

Simply boot from your ME startup floppy disk, and at the A: prompt, type SYS C:
