very strange problem, please help

Hello,
I have just installed Windows ME on another pc, and when I get into windows the pc locks up for 2 secs, then runs for 2 secs, locks up for 2 secs, then runs for 2 secs and so on, and the mouse moves then freezes and then moves and then freezes etc.....

Miles Saunders, SWAG, my guess is that you have a lot of stuff trying to run in the background. See if you can cut down and speed up refresh time. HTH. Ed in Texas.

Miles Saunders, a lot of software writers seem to feel that we can't POSSIBLY live without their goody so they put it in startup. There're a few things that MUST run and a lot of options. See what has to run @: http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/Uncheck. HTH. Ed in Texas.

What about a reinstall ?. Format drive and install again ME.
If the problem persists, I think it will be a hardware problem.
