VCACHE error in millenium

CPU/Ram: 1733mhz / 256mb ddr

after having virus problems recently in windows xp i decided to put millenium on for a change. so i fdisked my c: drive then formatted it. then i reinstalled millenium and it was running fine untill i tried to intall direct x usinf my ati raedon 9000 disc. it gave this error message

FILE NAME: VCACHE (01) + 000015A4 ERROR : OE : 0028 : C004EC40

please help me and tell me what is causing this error and what i should do to solve this annoying problem
