I upgraded my memory chip from 2 64 sdramm PC133 chips to a sdramm 265 PC133, now I get a vache error and the system shuts down or just freezes up. What would cause this? I know the chip is good becasue after this failure I put it in my other compter and it worked fine.

Can your pc handle a 256MB chip?

Some cannot, you need to check system specs for maximum per slot.

Reply:
It is a file cache issue when you get above 512.
Do Start > Run > System.ini
Scroll to the [vcache] section and add the line
MaxFileCache=512000

Save, exit and reboot

shows vchache size and physical memory size
