I made the mistake of letting my dad use my computer, now whenever I try to go to some websites I get one of those "congratulations" popups and then the page redirects to usseek.com

spybot found some things, i removed them but it still happens, I tried hijack this but nothing looked out of the ordindary, though I really don't know what to look for.

It only does it for 2 sites so far, maybe it's the sites problem then? could someone try going to them? toogle.com yeah not google toogle. the other was something my dad was trying to get to but ends up he had the url wrong, the one that went to usseek was whopperstopper.com I don't know what it really is supposed to be.

arg, FWIW, your homepage is set in IE and there are lots of scripts which try to change it to one site or another. Most are paid by advertisers on a 'per hit' basis. Homepage can be locked by the immunize feature in Spybot or there are some stand alone programs which protect your homepage and prevent highjacking. Get more info at :

As well as reading that article above. Scan with both fully updated versions of
Spybot S&D 1.3 (you have it already but make sure it's updated) and Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.03. Might as well run CWShredder 1.59.1 while your their too.

guys I'm not a n00b here okay. It has nothing to do with my homepage, my homepage is fine, I don't use IE this is happening in firefox, though I did check it in IE and it does it too. As I said I did spybot, I update it everytime before it scans, did ad-aware too, as I said spybot found somethings, but it didn't make a difference since they are gone. I will try CWShredder. Will someone please check the sites though, and make sure it's not just the sites' problems I don't have another computer I can check from.

It's weekend, what do you expect ;)

I use Firefox with the adblocker extension to boot. It still does the same with me, so it's hard coded redirects in the casino popup.

whopperstopper.com you get a casino popup, click cancel or the X and it redirects you to useek.com (google for useek)

Same for Toogle.com (redirects you to useek.com).

With no ill after effects I hasten to add ...and it's not unusual as Tom said.

Forget about it. Flush your cache and cookies etc in Firefox if it's playing on your mind.

okay, so there's nothing wrong with my computer, thank you. It's just really weird that my dad would go to that site that redirected there on the same day that toogle started doing that (I had been there the day before and it didn't).
