hi i'm having problems with my computer. when i load programs sometimes i get user.exe errors. also when i have two programs open (like quicken and excel) and i press the desktop icon by the start button, it says i don't have enough memory to complete the request. then when i close one of the programs it will let me go to the desktop. i definately have enough memory 512mb. i ran norton, scan disk, defraged nothing has worked. please someone help!
hello you might have lots of spy ware running d/l spybot and ad-ware and run them. try system restore. try the things in this link http://www.burzurq.com/forum/trevtweak.html how 2 run m.e well ver.4 check out tips on msconfig and start up. and if it gets worse and m.e wont start try this link
hmm i have zonealarm installed and i downloaded ad-ware and i did have some spyware but it was all deleted (i hope). i did read that article before and tried some things but it didnt help much..i tested all my video and audio drivers..ive searched for help on this subject but was not able to find much. do u think the user.exe errors would go away if i re-installed me? i need to do something because i restart my computer 5-10 times a day! because of the errors...
Like Dave says, you should do what it says in http://www.burzurq.com/forum/trevtweak.html and not just some of it. Any PC saying it is short of system resources (which is what your memory message means, NOT RAM) needs to have background programs turned off. Particularly do not run any system monitoring programs in the background, such as System Doctor.
Also, since you have 512Mb RAM, look particularly at point 6, but it is essential that you do points 2,3,5,8,9,10,13,14, and the 4 in 1 drivers update in 15.
ok I have done everything in that link and I havent gotten any user.exe errors YET =) but I just got 2 GDI.EXE errors..I downloaded GDI.EXE from the net but I am still getting the errors. Also my system resources are very low. It may have something to do with my cd-rom drive. On the performance tab on system properties it says "Drive E: is using MS-Dos compatibility mode file system. System resources are low. Some programs may not run" what does this mean?? I have barely nothing running at startup only norton and z-alarm! =( Any help would be greatly appreciated!
