I recently purchased a PNY USB drive. From since I first plugged it in, it asked for my Windows ME cd which I supplied it, and it quickly gave me the blue sreen of death with the following:
VXD dynamic link call NTMAPHLP + 00000002
"004f", serviceAnd it does this and kills my windows to the point a hard restart is necessary. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thank you.

I have a PNY Thumb drive 256M.B. ,and even though it said with WinMe and XP it was plug and play ,that was not the case for my system and apprently yours also .When I frist plugged the drive into my USB port and booted up the New Hardware Wizard detected it ,however it stalled 1/2 way thru the installing new H.W. and prompted me to install certain drivers from my .cab files. Now I have a OEM pre install version of Windows Me and the installation files are on my H.D. in the Windows/Options/Cabs section of Windows Explorer. I would write down the needed file listed and then cancel out the New Hardware Wizard , they I would go the the .cab file folder and explore each .cab file till i found the needed driver ,I would then extract it to the Windows/Drivers folder. I had to extract a total of 3 drivers , B\4 the drive was finally installed properly. It works great and is reconized as drive F on my system ! The drivers where all USB in nature . When the OEM installs the O/S , instead of a full install they apprently do not install all of the drivers available. Iam puzzeled by the BSOD you are getting ? Perhaps you can see if PNY has a web site and discusses this problem on some Windows Me systems ? Its apprent that this is a problem for others also !
Good Luck Nick
