Hello.
I am using windows ME. I inserted my card reader in my USB port and booted up the machine. I then get the message new device detected. Although I swear that USB card reader storage letter should show up on my folder. Nothing has shown up.
This is the card reader I am using

Do I need a driver for this device? If so where can I download this? If not then what am I doing wrong.
Thank you

You have a driver CD with the purchase according to the eBay site and it is possible that you DO need the driver with ME.
Since it is USB powered you MUST install the driver first BEFORE you connect the reader.
Look to your task bar - do you see the card reader icon when you connect the reader?? If you do then it is seen and should be accepted and should have loaded drivers by default.
Before you disconnect it click on the icon and follow the instructions before unplugging it. Remember to unplug it before you boot up since it might well cause your system to hang at the boot screen till it is!!

Thanks for the quick response.
The CD is not doing the trick. Got any ideas where I can download the driver?
Thank you

Put the CD in the drive holding the Shift key down till the drive spins but does not auto start. RIGHT click the drive in Control Panel and LEFT click "Explore".
You should find either a folder probably entitiled something like "drv" or perhaps it will go straightway to the entire contents. RIGHT click "drv" then "Explore" OR LEFT click any folder which is "WinME". IF it contains any WinME drivers for your reader it should start to install them.
When your reader is connected does any removable drive show in Control Panel?? Does any icon appear in the task bar?? What happens if you connect the reader AND then put a card into it??
