I'd like to upgrade my current Dell Dimension 8100 to USB 2.0. I already have 4 or so USB 1.1 ports that came factory installed with the computer - would I need to do anything more than just install a second card with the additional USB 2.0 ports (I saw that Belkin sells upgrade kits)? And if not, then is it possible to run both types of ports (2.0 and 1.1) on the same computer?
You cannot upgrade your existing USB Ports to USB2. Devices that are USB2 can be used on your old USB1.1 ports, they will just run slower. The Belkin PCI USB2 card works very nicely on my DEll Dimension, so I have both USB1.1 and USB2. Take care and all the best!.

hello a second card with the usb2 ports on it should work just fine but you may want to read the box or check the sight to be sure they have m.e compatable drivers. as usb2 came out after m.e and there is one usb 2 card that dose not have m.e drivers.
