CPU/Ram: 2 years of age...

Comment: I don't know if this is related to the problem, but anyway, one day my dad was trying to install some kind of name card program onto his Chinese WinME and the setup failed. Then he ignored the thing and went on to work. HOWEVER, now when he tries to open a word document with his Microsoft Word2000 the documents actually opened...BUT then the word window disappears.... THEN this Winword MSACM32.dll error shows up... Please help!! Urgent, cuz my dad needs to work on the documents... Would it be a virus? Or a corruption of some system files....?? Please help Thanx thanx.

Reply: (edit)Could be that the dll was damaged. I would copy the old msacm32.dll file to the desktop or somewhere and replace it with one these these two files: file 1 file 2. Not sure which one is the correct one, so just try them out. If that doesn't work, I would suggest reinstalling MS Word. And if you think that you might have a virus, do a virus scan for free on Housecall. Hope that helps. Kevin.

Reply: (edit)Why don't you just try extracting it from your ME CD in the Windows/Cabs folder? If you have have an OEM disk,it'll probably be in Windows/Options/Cabs,or similar...
