upgrading from windows me to 98

windows me came installed on my new computer, no windows me cd. how can i uninstal windows me and install my windows 98 (have win 98 os cd). windows me uninstall NOT in add/remove folder, tried to run uninstal.exe but no such file. all i have for win me is the restore disk which resets the computer to original factory settings. i did that, still no uninstall info.

the only way you can go back to an earlier os is if you format the harddrive. download a 98 boot disk from bootdisk.com. format the c: drive then install 98.
note: make sure you have all the hardware drivers, (modem, graphics card etc.)and backup all your files that you want to keep.

You should FDISK the drive and set it up with at least two partitions (I prefer more). Keep all your data files on a partition other than C:, in fact I only load Windows on C: Save all your data to the D: drive Then when you have to re-install the OS, you only need to FORMAT C: and reload Win and your programs. All your data will remain on D:
