I have installed Windows 98 installed on my computer and i want to upgrade to Windows Me...but i have question that if i upgrade to Windows Me What about my all application already installed on my computer. please help me. Thank you

If all goes well, all your applications will still work.

if 98 works stay with it, depends on your computer. make sure it can handle ME. i have upgraded 3 computers from 98 to ME and they all work fine, current applications stay fine too.

It is best to do a full install if ME. The upgrade has a lot of issues when put over 98.

Doing the full ME install is easier said then done. You must rename the .com extension in Win.com to something else and you also must initialize setup in DOS mode (not MS-DOS Prompt in Windows, you must be in Complete DOS mode) because if you dont then Windows ME setup will say that you must go out and buy the special upgrade edition. After installation is completed go back and rename the Win.com file to Win.com and everything should be alright.

Why do you want to upgrade to ME? Is something wrong with your 98? My 98 works good. I have problems in windows ME with Internet connection and with windows media player 7.I did not get any help from microsoft on either of these problems. Just wait 2 years until windows ME will be debugged. Regards Miro

Me is an "upgrade" to 98se. it's supposed to be more stable. Wait 6 or 7 months and get Whistler when it comes out, it's going to be much more stable and have a greater degree of security. Sort of a cross between Win98se and Win 2000 pro.
