is it worthy,i think so as with any new os there are bugs.most of the bugs are of a hardware, software nature not the os.the best advice i can give you is that before you upgrade to ME make sure all your hardware drivers are up to date modem, video, bios, sound card ect.Don't forget your software look for updates there as well..as for myself i like ME and i did have my problems after some up dates no more problems..have a nice day!

ed, i think that you are putting the carriage in front of the horse. If the hardware and software worked under 98, it is supposed to work under ME also. The writing on the box is 150mhz chip and 32 meg RAM and that it is compatible with programs for windows 95,98 and 98SE. I dont consider as "plug and play" looking months for updated divers. I dont see anything worth in windows ME to risk these headaches to "upgrade" to it. I have enough headaches with factory installed ME on my brand new notebook computer.

Tom, i am just trying to wake up the people. That they realize what fraud WindowsME is. I cant help it not seeing it as a fraud and i will fight it as any other kind of fraud. In the middleages in my city they were cutting both ears for false advertizing.

You can't say Windows ME isn't more stable and has lots of changes in it.
They're rather hidden but they're there :)
Also, many bugs are fixed, but I'm afraid that with the new features, new bugs have come into the OS. But I still like it more than 98.

I agree with those telling you to do a clean install as opposed to upgrading. Anytime you upgrade an O/S, you're asking for trouble. It just doesn't work well. And make sure you have compatible hardware and the latest drivers. I have a new rig with factory installed ME and have had no problems with it so far, except for a few minor, strange glitches that go away with a fresh boot.

People, another naive question from me... WHY is microsoft selling uprades to windows ME when we are supposed to do clean install??
I guess i just wont understand some things microsoft does.... B.T.W my factory installed by proffesionals squeeky clean install does not work correctly.... i am going back to my guilt trip now ....and saving money to give microsoft for a clean install of whistler or whatever sh*t they will come up next... in the meantime using my old reliable (debugged after 3 years and many reinstalls) windows98

My Celeron machine is an ME upgrade. With the latest drivers, and odd software patch, it's sweet.

It works no worse than 98SE, but with useful features like system restore which is why I got it.

My AMD machine is a clean full install and that works sweet too.

There are some issues with ME, but there are with every O/S. Oh what fun we had upgrading from 95 to 98.......
