I'm definitely BIOS illiterate,but I believe you're flirting with disaster.Upgrading/flashing the BIOS can render your system forever useless.

hello
bios flashing can and is a nesasary evil. some times it needs to be done for newr hard drives to bee seen ect.
try looking at the www.badflash.com
and www.bioscentral.com

Motherboards.org makes that board out to be from:

Ford Lian

Which... after a little investigation... appears to be out of business. This site does have some contact information for them, but the Fordlian website is now a search engine (in a blazing horrific orange color I might add).

You could try the phone number listed there (it's international... not sure what country) or give the email a shot.
