Universal flash bios utility

Is there an obtainable universal flash bios utility for each different computer or "each" type of bios/Ammegatrends, Award, Compaq, etc. that would work on all Compaq's, all Dell's, all Gateways, etc.

No, At least not that I have ever heard of.
I HAVE heard of a little "jumper" BIOS chip that you can connect on top of the existing BIOS chip if it gets damaged for some reason. Supposedly this will let you run an otherwise ruined mobo. I have never tried one, or even known anyone who has, but I have seen them.

Thanks, I have heard of new chips being burned by companiesfor the motherboard.
I was curious as if I get my hands on an older model with a "corrupted"/wiped chip, as to the options.
