I'm trying to uninstall a couple programs from the Add/Remove in control panel, but I am getting these messages: "Uninstall data could not be found at the specified location. Cannot uninstall" ... and another message for a different program fails because...."is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue".
I deleted the folders from the programs file, but they are still there and taking up space. Any suggestions??? many thanx.

You could try re-installing and then uninstall the programs in question. This has worked for me in the past.

Maybe the original uninstall was not done properly. Some fragments are still around, but not the ones you need to complete the uninstall.

Tweak UI from MS or the program X-Setup from www.xteq.com can clean up that listing and do many other things too.

Usually the CONTROL PANEL, ADD/REMOVE will just ask if you want to delete the listing, even if you have had problems.

The program RegCleaner from www.jv16.org has some very nice capabilities to uninstall and work with that menu. Be careful what you delete, as you should always be very sure. Nice feature to RegCleaner, it puts your deletes to a back up first (be sure and configure that way at install).

You can't run the uninstall if you've deleted the program folders. If you still have them in your Recycle Bin, restore them and then try the add/remove.

If that still doesn't work, look for an uninstall*.exe file in the program folder for each program.

If there isn't any, then just remove them manually, and remove any registry keys for those programs.
