As of yesterday, I cannot start any web browser. I have checked for viruses, and it found several and deleted them. When I go to start IE or even Opera, nothing happens. No error messages come up, just nothing. I don't even get the hourglass. My connection is fine (as I have AOL IM). Help!! Thanks

The most likely explanation is that the virii that you deleted were actually infected portions of IE and/or Opera files. My advice would be to (somehow) get a copy of either of these and reinstall.

Hi JeffN nice to meet you!
Usually in this type of cases I’m applying running service packs.

Well, the problem was happening before I deleted any files. I only ran the virus scanner after I had these problems. I was able to go into safe mode last night and uninstall Kazaa and AOL IM, and now I can get in to the internet. One of them was causing the problem, not sure which. But I've had both running for several years, which is odd, with no problems before Sunday.

I think I'm upgrading to XP. I've about had it with ME and all the system crashes. I appreciate the responses! Thanks
