i am running a cable connection. every conceivable url that leads anywhere loads a page, except when i try to connect to www.pcworld.com there the page begins to load (i get the logo) but dumps me to the page unavailable screen (as though the url was unoccupied). pc world says it it a problem with me. but it doesn't happen anywhere else but there. if i press the refresh button enough times, the page will eventually come up. then, navigating through the pcworld site, the next desination will begin to load before i am dumped at the "page not available" message. this only happens at and within pcworld.com! (note also that i clear my cache regularly, so i am not trying to load from a stored address). any ideas as to why this happens only at this site? thank you.

no idea about why, but if everything else is
working fine leave it alone and just dont use that site.

pcworld loads doubleclick, pages sometimes get stuck while loading doubleclick, happens also with www.computing.net... pcworld loads also ton of other advertising pages, might be also one of those, look them up in the page source and try to open them in individual windows

You may also want to go to your temporary internet files folder and delete all of your cookies and temp files and try again.
If one of the cookies has been corrupted it will hamper your ability to get to a site.
at the top of this browser window... click on tools>>internet options.
Under temporary internet files click settings.
click view files.
click on the first item to select it.
hit Ctrl + A to select them all.
hit the DEL key to the right on your keyboard. That will clear everything out of that file.
Try the site again.

Also if you have cookies disabled you could have trouble viewing some pages. You could enable cookies in general or for this site only and possibly get in.

Newgirl,
I've been trying to veiw a page with animations which would not load. Though, I have emptied my temporary internet files before, after reading your post I did it again . . . Yippee! The page loads now.
Thanks, vislo
