Hello to all,
I am having trouble with Internet Exploiter 6.0+SP1. As of late, I am getting random complete system lockups(cntr+alt+del does nothing and no BSOD) or intermittent rebooting whenever browsing and clicking on a link or to watch streaming video.Things I have tried:
- Repair IE 6.0 via add/remove programs
- Scan with Spybot and Ad-Aware; system is clean of the nasties
- Scan with my AV, as well online AV/Trojan scans; no malicious forms detected
- Opened up comp and checked to see HSF was running; checked ok
- Set a fan, directing the air on the mobo and part of CPU/HSF(the PSU blocks the path somewhat)
- Updated the NIC driver
- Checked my broadband speed; 200Kbytes on the average :P
- Downloaded the IT WMP 9.0 codecs
- Reinstalled a recent full system backupNow, from doing a search on this forum, the only post pertaining to my problem seems to be that it’s M$ quirky Internet Exploiter playing some head games with me. Tell me this is so...can’t wait for my Mandrake 9.1 power pack to arrive :)!
Happy pre-4th of July! Be extra careful not to set yourself or you loved ones on fire!

I really don't like MS updates because sometimes they cause you more trouble than it's worth. Have you tried uninstalling the SP? Try it if you haven't done it.
Kevin.

I wrote to you earlier stating the following:
Bryan,I came here for help with OE6 and have came across some of your replies to Zera. I went to START, RUN and typed in: sfc /scannow and I got a reply that it could not find the file. I have been having trouble with both Windows XP and Outlook Express 6... can you help?
But I made a mistake. The computer that I am having the problem with is running Windows ME (not XP) If I go to add remove programs... I cannot find outlook Express or Internet Explorer. I did a scandisk and it found no errors. This computer is really messed up. The virus checker ran and found no viruses... I don't know what else to do... can you help? Sorry about the mistake earlier!
