I know this is kinda a trivial question, but drives me crazy to know end. When I right click on something, for example a shortcut on my desktop, I get the usual options. However, when I get to the "send to" choice, I get TWO briefcases. I get the typical Briefcase being an option, but I also get Briefcase(2) as another option. And I only have the one briefcase on my desktop. I've tested to see where the items go, and both briefcase and briefcase(2) send the file to the briefcase on my dektop. I know this is a silly question, but nonetheless, I'm sure there is a tweak somewhere that can remove briefcase(2). Suggestions?

On WIN Me , got to START > RUN and type in
sendto
this will open a window for all the selections on that right click menu. Here you can edit (add or delete). To add an icon here, just create a shortcut from an ICON on the main desktop and DRAG in into this SENDTO window.

Actually, I find that very important, as the RIGHT CLICK option can have tremendous ability. For example, I use it as as connection to all my drive bays (CD-R, ZIP, floppy, DVD) and then can easily just right click and send something there.

After reinstalling ME over itself, it always has given me a new "brief case"(2)...I have just deleted the second one with no problems...It must be a default with the reinstall....

Next time , open explorer, drill down thru your folders until you find the 'send to' folder. Now add or delete shortcuts at will. For instance, I have a shortcut to my graphics editors .exe , this lets me right click on a jpeg and send it directly to paint shop pro, which opens and saves me a few mouse clicks.

Its a hidden folder. Some files&folders are hidden by default. You will need to unhide them.

Open my documents.
Choose tools/folder options/view tab.
Scroll down till you see show hidden files and put a check in it. Hit apply then ok.
You should be able to see it now.

In here you can delete the extra briefcase shortcut.

You might want to rehide after your done.

There are usually more than one way to navigate anywhere in Windows. Chris original reply is absolutely correct and takes you directly to the 'send to' folder.
If you like to navigate using 'explorer', go to C:\Windows\Send to
or if you have more than one profile on your computer, look for C:\Windows\Profiles\username\Send to

There is the possibility that the folder is hidden (its hidden in Windows 2000), again, in explorer go to the 'menu' at the top of the screen, click on 'tools', folder options, view, now click on 'show all files', hit 'apply' and 'ok'. now hit the F5 key to refresh your screen.
Poke around, but be careful as these are system files, rehide your files/folders when done.
hope this helps

Same here joey. Ive added shortcuts to all the software i run. This way i dont have to bother with "whos the default editor" each time.

I cant remember who gave me the tip. I think it was thekid. Anywho. thanks.
