TV out blurry on hi defenision tv

I have an ati radeon 9000 pro with tv out now I also have a hi defenition tv shouldnt the picture be just as clear with the hi defenition as the monitor is there a way to get the picture crisp on the tv ? I was hoping to do some gamming on the 61" wide screen

I think if it were me I would call the dealer of the tv and pc and see if either have any info. I have a laptop with tv out and if I set a game to 640-480 I have no problems viewing it on my 32 inch tv.
