No longer supported or needed. Create a windows me startup disk. Fdisk to partition and format c: to format.

"and whenever i install windows its back to the normal thing"

What's the "normal thing"?

If for some reason you absolutely *need* to copy the system files to the hard disk, you will need a Windows 98 boot disk. You can download an image that you then run to extract to a floppy from bootdisk.com.

hm. maybe i should explain what i did. i tried to partition the hard drive. i made a boot disk. i started the computer with the boot disk in, and ran fdisk. after i partitioned it, i restarted, then formatted each of the drives. but the instructions i was given said to use the format c:/s command to copy the system files off the boot disk to the c:drive. it wouldnt copy so i just formatted it and didnt worry about copying the files. after i reinstalled windows, on drive c, my drive wasnt partitioned anymore. i cannot figure out how to install windows and keep it partitioned. i was thinking maybe it was because i couldnt copy the sytsem files. any help would be appreciated.
