I have a 3 year old PII-266 computer with 128MB RAM, Phillips 3610 CD-R/RW & many hardware upgrades. I recently reformatted my C: drive and did a clean reinstall of Windows ME. Since then my DVD-ROM drive (Toshiba M1102)has developed the annoying habit of opening its disc tray as soon as the computer is turned on. It happens every time and before the Windows splash screen or even the appearance of the POST data on screen. It never did this before. My other CD drive (Phillips 3610 CD-R/RW) does not do this. The drive still works perfectly as a CD-ROM and/or DVD-ROM. Any ideas on how to get rid of this problem?
if everything else works good, i would live with it...you can cause bigger problem trying to fix a little one.... if you want to fix it i would start with the dvd manufacturer to check for updated drivers Regards Miro
