i have a computer and it has windows me on it i found the cab files and the setup.exe file in the windows directory. i also have a hard drive which has been partitioned and formatted and i wanted to know how could i install the blank hard drive to my computer and than download the cab files from my hard drive to the formatted one. and after i copy them to the blank hard drive would i be able to go to dos c: and type setup.exe so it can install windows.? i also heard about partition magic able to copy one entire to drive to another does this mean everything even windows.

You should be able to put the new hard drive in the computer as a primary master and the other as primary slave. You should then have a c: and d: drive. You can then run the setup from the d: drive and it will install to the c: drive (It doesn't give you a choice).
As far as a program that can copy the entire drive, I don't think partition magic can do it, but Norton Ghost and Drive Image can. And yes this will copy windows, we use Ghost to make clones on all the new computers we get, it is much faster and easier than installing windows on each one.

I also found this about programs that can copy. I guess I was wrong about Partition Magic.
Summary: Go buy Norton Ghost. The program was specially made to transfer data from one hard drive to another. I have no idea about the price but you should be able to get it at any online or computer store....
