IE6 or Windows Explorer waits to close after "x-ing" out and going to my desk top. It just hangs and won't let me do anything for 20 or 30 seconds or so, then whatever it is doing finally ends and I am able to continue. Anyone know why the lapse of time occurs? I have tried closing my Zone Alarm firewall thinking it was that pesky tvdebug.log that sometimes causes trouble, but still have the same problem. This only happens on certain websites, not all.

Examples?

If we knew which web sites are troublesome, we might be able to figure out what type of content is causing the problem, if it is a plugin or activeX control problem etc.

I don't want to guess, so I am going to jot the sites that have been causing this.

One I know of for sure is MSNBC video page, after playing a video there, it hangs forever, never stops...my suspicions have me to believe it is Flash Player causing the problem...CNN and FOXNEWS have video players, but do not use Flash Player and I have no problems...All three, MSNBC,CNN, and FOXNEWS use WMP..

Flash shouldn't have anything to do with WMP. Sounds like perhaps you have damaged activeX controls in your downloaded program files folder (internet options > temporary internet files > settings > view objects).

Deleting the damaged ones and letting them redownload when you go back to the page(s) may help.

also set your temp internet settings to every visit to the page in IE properties (yours by default will be on auto)
